As a Technical Superintendent (m/f/d) RoPax-Ferry at BSM Cruise, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost‑efficient technical operation of assigned ferry vessels. In this role, you act as a key link between ship and shore, providing expert technical oversight, supporting regulatory compliance, coordinating maintenance and repair activities, and driving performance improvements that enhance vessel condition, operational readiness, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure safe, efficient, and contract‑aligned technical management of assigned ferry vessels.
Monitor vessel machinery and equipment performance, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.
Develop and oversee maintenance and repair plans, ensuring timely execution and adherence to quality, budget, and schedule.
Forecast technical requirements, spare parts needs, and training demands to support effective budget and maintenance planning.
Oversee the timely resolution of technical issues and maintain effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
Ensure vessel certification compliance and implement necessary updates based on regulatory changes.
Plan, manage, and follow up on dry-dockings and major repair projects to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget completion.
Prepare, manage, and monitor vessel technical budgets (OPEX & CAPEX), identifying savings opportunities and deviations.
Execute vessel visits, inspections, and internal audits, ensuring timely reporting and effective follow-up actions.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent; or Chief Engineer qualification.
Minimum 3 years’ sailing experience as Senior Officer, preferably on ferry or cruise vessels;
Or 3 years’ shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent, preferably in cruise or ferry operations.
Mandatory experience with ROPAX ferries.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of vessel technical requirements and marine regulations.
Excellent project management capabilities.
Strong negotiation and people management skills.
Effective teamwork, communication, and stakeholder collaboration.
High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
Fluency in English.
Solid PC literacy.
